We offer Primal Therapy in Brighton and Haywards Heath. Primal Therapy was pioneered by Dr Arthur Janov, working in California from the 1960s to the present day, but it has roots on the East Coast of America too, and a similar approach evolved in the UK in the 1950s.
Our work is based on Dr Janov's theories, but we have introduced a few different elements as time has gone on, around practical and safety issues. We also have links to the wider therapeutic community in the UK and beyond, through our professional organisations.
Primal therapy has spread far beyond Dr Janov's work, and there are now many primal therapists throughout the world, mostly in America and Canada.
We have been working together since 1990, and while Janov's work on Primal Therapy is central to what we do, we have naturally brought our own selves to the work, and our own emphases.
We help our clients towards self-discovery, insight and change, providing a safe environment where trust can grow and where they can reconnect with the past at their own pace and in their own time. They can experience fully, often for the first time, the repressed feelings which have caused such pain in their lives.
Franklin will be retiring at the end of August this year and so, regretfully, he is now no longer taking on any new clients. He will, however, be happy to talk to anyone who was thinking of applying for therapy and possibly refer them on to alternatives.
Please note that Jan Armitage, whose details were formerly available on this site, has now retired, and is no longer available for contact or for therapy.
